WINTER MANDALA-VINYASA YOGA WORKSHOP

Saturday 26th November 12-2PM

ELEVEN:ELEVEN Yoga Studios

Host: Abbie Bates

Work through the elements in Mandala Yoga!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Mandala - a geometric figure representing the universe.

Vinyasa- breath and movement linked and maintained in a conscious way.

The practice of Mandala Vinyasa focuses on the energy and essence of 4 elements: earth, air, fire, and water. Mandala Vinyasa connects each element with a specific area of the body whilst incorporating the spiral patterns of nature moving 360 degrees around the mat. It leads us into places that perhaps our awareness would not have access to, by following a linear pattern.

For this winter mandala workshop, we will move through all 4 elements to find balance, but the central theme will be earth. We practice with the energy of the earth to feel grounded, cultivating steadiness, strength, and trust whilst working towards awakening the internal world and connecting to body and mind. We will start with Meditation, Pranayama and Yin poses to softly awaken the areas of focus before moving into a dynamic Vinyasa flow. You will experience a full embodied practice and leave feeling energised yet grounded.

The class will also include arm balances and inversions (which can be skipped if that’s not your thing).

Workshop Outline:

10 minute Pranayama & Meditation at the start and the end of the class.

Yin at the start, the end and interweaved in the flow to softly awaken the areas of focus.

90 minute Mandala flow  with a focus on the earth element, cultivating steadiness, strength & trust.
